Former Polish professional dancer Kasha Szot (29) loves dance but until this month never allowed herself to dream she might have her own studio.

Ms Szot has lived in Wanaka for 18 months, after falling in love with the town while on holiday.

She will open the doors to her Dungarvon St premises, Studio K Dance, this weekend.

"It is a dream come true . . . something that I had neglected for so many years," she said this week.

The programme for the Studio K Dance celebration at 24 Dungarvon St begins at 11am today and 1pm tomorrow.

A performance by Dunedin fire dancing troupe Highly Flammable is at 7pm today, while a live performance of street funk, salsa, contemporary and flamenco dance is at 7pm tomorrow.
