A song recorded by Arrowtown teenager Jessica Law (16), who died in a head-on collision on New Year's Day, is becoming a popular internet download.

Secret is available for download at the web page Amplifier.co.nz.

Yesterday her song had been played so many times it jumped to number nine on the website's chart.

A Facebook site called "RIP JESS LAW" has been created by her friend Yasmine Rigby as a tribute and yesterday the site had more than 500 fans.

Jessica Law's talent as a singer and songwriter is mentioned on the site several times.

She performed in the Central Otago gold-rush musical Rush in 2005, and was a finalist in the National MLT Songwriting Awards in 2007, and was working on songs for her debut album.

A memorial service will be held for Jessica tomorrow.

In the crash, which happened near Arthur's Point, Jessica had been travelling as a passenger in a Nissan Pulsar with Jesse Boulay (16) and Josephine Clay (16), who were both airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

Josephine was reported to be in a stable condition in Southland Hospital yesterday while Jesse remained in a critical condition in intensive care in Dunedin Hospital, according to a hospital spokesperson.

According to previous statements from the police, the teenagers' car crossed the centre line and collided with a Mercedes driven by a Queenstown woman.

The woman and her two children were all taken to Lakes District Hospital with minor injuries.

Sgt Duffy said they had since been discharged from hospital.
