Residents' and ratepayers' satisfaction with the Queenstown Lakes District Council is high and an annual council survey has produced one of the best results in a decade.
A total of 805 surveys were received, from a sample of over 3000, and analysed by the close-off date early last month.
Services respondents thought needed improving were roading (10%), parking, (6%), the consent process (6%) and footpaths (5%).
The survey found satisfaction was highest for trails, walkways and cycleways.
Satisfaction with community services was higher than 2009 but satisfaction for parks, reserves and gardens was slightly lower than the 2009-12 period.
Three-quarters of respondents were satisfied with their elected representatives, an increase from 2012, though the response varied for where respondents lived.
''Slightly lower levels of satisfaction were experienced by respondents in Wanaka (50%) and small communities (50%),'' the survey results said.
''In contrast, 68% of respondents were satisfied with the elected members of the council in Queenstown.''
The survey results show satisfaction with infrastructure is higher than post-2009. Satisfaction with water supply and sewerage and wastewater increased this year.
Research First has been responsible for the surveys since 2009.
