The event marked a milestone in the development of the ground at Millbrook Park, at the corner of Malaghans and Arrowtown Lake Hayes Rds.
It has taken 23 years for the pavilion to be built since a concrete wicket block was laid.
Club president Fraser Skinner said the 30 plus members of the ''boutique cricket club'' arranged games both at home and away with similar cricket clubs around the South Island.
They had held about 40 working bees since early last year to finish the new pavilion, he said.
Work on two practice nets next to the pavilion was under way and was due for completion within a month.
The project has been funded by a Queenstown Lakes District Council contribution, charitable donations and contributions in kind by trade suppliers and contractors.
The park was transferred to the council by Millbrook Resort in 2009.
