A Queenstown man has been sentenced to 270 hours' community service for defrauding ACC of more than $12,000.
David Farquhar Kirkman (49), also has to pay more than $10,000 in reparation after being convicted in the Invercargill District Court on Friday on three counts of obtaining by deception.
Kirkman's offending began in 2004, after he was injured in a car accident and began receiving weekly compensation.
During the eight years he received the payments he worked seasonally as a coach driver, but provided the department with medical certificates stating he was unable to work.
His offending came to light in 2012.
