Queenstown residents will have the chance to put their election questions to representatives of six major political parties ahead of November's general election during the Otago Daily Times Queenstown Chamber of Commerce Great Debate later this month.
Queenstown Chamber of Commerce chief executive Ann Lockhart said those attending would include Dr Michael Cullen (Labour), Bill English (National), Roger Douglas (Act New Zealand), Russel Norman (Greens), Jim Anderton (Progressive) and Winston Peters (New Zealand First).
Questions from the floor would be the format of the debate, with Jim Hopkins as MC for the evening.
It would provide an "ideal opportunity" to hear directly from the politicians.
"The economy will obviously be a significant topic and its implications for both Queenstown business and community," Mrs Lockhart said.
The debate will be held at the Millennium on October 28, from 7pm.
Tickets cost $30 and are available from Wilkinsons Pharmacy, Remarkables Park Pharmacy and Arrowtown Pharmacy, or by email at events@queenstownchamber.org.nz.
Mrs Lockhart said the debate was expected to be a sellout, so it was important to secure tickets early.
