The Remarkables will celebrate spring - and a well-timed small snowfall - this weekend, during the Spring Carnival.
For three days from Saturday, free activities and prize giveaways for snow enthusiasts of all ages are on offer, climaxing in a gravity-defying, FMX display on Monday.
The Remarkables Ski Area manager Ross Lawrence said the carnival would be a great way for families to start the school holidays.
"There will be free tubing, face-painting, treasure hunts, lolly scrambles, balloon throw, a kids' obstacle course and live music among the events.
"Our sponsors have sorted us out with heaps of freebies and the FMX display should be spectacular."
There will also be a Pond Skim at noon on Saturday ( $5 entry) to compete for a cash prize, and a Downhill Dummy race on Sunday, with free entry and a $200 food hamper as prizes.
