Will they accept it, and "go pink" for October, Breast Cancer Awareness month?
Arrowtown Hair Company stylists Nikki Nash and Jamie Creevey last year raised $750 for breast cancer research, after giving $2 from every adult service for the month to the charity.
This year, they hope to raise more than $1000 and they want businesses in Arrowtown to follow their example.
Breast cancer has affected the families of both women.
Ms Creevey said her aunt was a breast cancer survivor and Ms Nash's aunt died from the disease.
Ms Nash said the fund-raising this year in the salon would be "bigger and better" than last year and she hoped other businesses in Arrowtown would get behind the cause.
"We're laying down the challenge. Go pink and beat us."
Collection boxes would also be in the salon for anyone who wanted to make a personal donation.
