Bus-crash inquiry complete

The investigation into the death of a Taiwanese woman who was hit by a bus in Queenstown in February has been completed.

Constable Aaron Redaelli, of Queenstown, said he received the serious crash unit's report yesterday.

"The inquiry is complete.

"I am just going through the process of going through the serious crash unit's final report and recommendations.

"I will go through it with a fine-tooth comb," he said.

A decision would be made about whether to charge the bus driver in the next four or five days.

Hsiu Yuch Lee (48), of Taiwan, was holidaying with her husband, adult son and daughter, as part of a tour group with an undisclosed company, when she was struck by the Connectabus public bus, travelling on its regular route, about 9.30pm on February 16.

The collision broke the front cab window.

The male bus driver took some time off work for counselling after Mrs Lee's death.

He has since returned to work.
