An 8-year-old boy sustained serious head injuries when he fell off a bouncy castle near Cromwell this afternoon.
St John spokesman Ian Henderson said emergency services were alerted about 12.30pm and an ambulance and rescue helicopter from Queenstown rushed to the scene at Pisa Moorings, just north of Cromwell.
Mr Henderson said there had been strong wind blowing at the time and the boy either fell or was blown from the bouncy castle.
He was flown to Dunedin Hospital.
