Fears remain of avalanches beyond the boundaries of the Remarkables and Coronet Peak skifields near Queenstown, but none were reported during the weekend.
Concerns about avalanches follow the death of a Queenstown man at Coronet on August 2.
The Mountain Safety Council backcountry, out-of-bounds avalanche danger rating remains at "high", and both the Coronet and the Remarkables skifields are advising people to stay within the field boundaries.
Remarkables ski area manager Ross Lawrence said controlled blasting had been required since Friday, but the 3500 visitors to the field during the weekend had been advised to stay in-bounds, where "the snow was settling nicely".
"For out-of-bounds advisory people should check with patrols, or the Mountain Safety Council, for the most up-to-date information," he said.
Coronet Peak ski area manager Hamish McCrostie said no controlled blasting had been required since last Tuesday as there had been no new snow.
