The Queenstown Lakes District Council had approved entering into a contract with Asplundh for building services, QLDC parks manager Gordon Bailey said.
Contract 806 includes services such as playground safety inspections, building repairs and street furniture installation.
It had been carried out as a negotiated interim agreement for the past year, with the same company.
"The council has now re-tendered this contract in order to award a longer-term contract," Mr Bailey said.
The contract was for a four-year minimum period and a maximum of nine years, subject to performance.
