Festival of Colour artists showing intensely-detailed botanical paintings and glass sculptures introduce their latest works to Queenstown in person next month.
Neal Palmer, of Auckland, who was artist in residence at Art in the Park, Wanaka, supplied 10 acrylic paintings on canvas for his exhibition ''Returned Journeys''.
Sue Hawker, of Kerikeri, delivered 14 pate de verre glass artworks for her exhibition ''A Singular Occasion''.
Both artists will attend the public launch of the double-billed showcase and be available to discuss their work at Milford Galleries, Queenstown, on May 4 at 4.30pm.
''Each and every work in Return Journeys illustrates [Palmer's] precision and profound understanding of light, colour and the subject matter, as well as the traditional concepts of pictorial space and focus,'' art consultant Jacinta Byron said.
''Sue Hawker continues to push the boundaries of the pate de verre technique upon which she has focused for the last few years. She uses form and palette to delineate individual characters as well as their inter-relatedness within the series.''
Both exhibitions run in the gallery on Church Lane until May 29.
