Artists John Shewry and Simon Morrison-Deaker will unveil "Collections From the Shed", a showcase of 20 of their works to an invited audience at the gallery in the Mountaineer building on Thursday evening.
The collection is available for public viewing from Friday.
Shewry (32) will contribute 11 items in mostly recycled media.
He said historical and contemporary New Zealand and what was deemed politically acceptable and not acceptable was the narrative for the majority of the pieces.
The largest item to be exhibited is his interpretation of New Zealand heritage, as depicted on a piece of 7.5m-long corrugated iron, which he formed from a long-drop's walls and door.
Shewry used layers of scrim wallpaper from an old house to create different effects on six other pieces.
Two intricate framed works called Tin Tikis were created from 70 old cake tins over three weeks.
The works of art would range in price from $2000 to $15,000.
Morrison-Deaker (36) will introduce his new Commemorative series, which feature Captain James Cook, Queen Elizabeth II, James Mackenzie's collie dog Friday and the Romney sheep statue depicted in the style of 1950s wall plates, postcards and holiday snapshots.
Examples from Morrison-Deaker's popular Small Town series will make appearances, plus two from his Artefact series, where he used "utensils, artefact and treasures".
Prices for his work would range from $2500 up to $4000.
"Collections From the Shed" runs until September 12.
