Art awards presented

St Joseph's School and two of its pupils won prizes at the awards evening of the Great Bayleys' Art Competition, on Thursday night.

Pupil Samuel Kelly won the first prize of a $200 Paper Plus voucher for his design of the Remarkables reflected in Lake Wakatipu. Pupil Bella Anderson won the second prize of a $100 Paper Plus voucher.

KingsView School pupil Nicole Dalves won the third prize of a $50 Paper Plus voucher.

St Joseph's won $3000 as the winning pupil's school and Glenorchy School won $2000 as the runner-up school.

About 60 children, teachers, sponsors and Bayleys real estate staff attended the awards function in the Post Office Cafe. Entries were judged by Rangi Ruru Girls' School head of visual arts and art history faculty, Juliet Collins, of Christchurch.
