Arrowtown and friends starring in US television commercial

A mostly Wakatipu-based cast of extras and crew were involved in a shoot for a winter-themed American television commercial in Arrowtown yesterday.

Traffic was diverted around the block containing the row of historic miners' cottages, the Tap bar and former council chambers, which were all doused in biodegradable white foam and lights to mimic a festive American street.

Producer Tiare Tomaszewski, of Auckland-based Beach House Films, said the crew would film more autumn and Christmas scenes in Dunedin tomorrow, including one outside the district court in Lower Stuart St.

The commercial is for an undisclosed American clothing retailer.
