Back for the fourth time on Southern snow this week was Gus Kenworthy of Telluride, Colorado.

Kenworthy (20), pictured competing in yesterday's freestyle ski World Cup halfpipe event at the Cardrona Skifield, will also compete in the annual winter rail jam, the Remarkables Parklife Invitational, at the Queenstown Recreation Ground on Saturday - an event he has won twice.

Kenworthy is fresh from skiing and coaching in the northern hemisphere and has just performed a trick never done before, a variation of a double rodeo 990 off the rail. Kenworthy said slopestyle was his strongest event.

"Most of my biggest results have been in slopestyle competitions and it's definitely the discipline that's closest to my heart."
