Gymnasts from Queenstown were recognised for their hard work and agility skills at this year's prizegiving ceremony.

Young recreational and competition gymnasts from Queenstown Gymnastics Club received badges from Gymsports New Zealand celebrating their work throughout the year, and four in particular were singled out for praise.

Ana-Carolina Lozano received the Birch Trophy for most promising local gymnast and Jessie Wild was awarded the trophy for top competitive score throughout the year.

Chamonix Albrecht received a trophy for achievement in girls' gymnastics, and the highly coveted "Gymnast Trophy" went to Jenna McFadgen.

Club president Nyssa Willcocks said all club members had worked hard throughout the year and the club was looking for new members for 2011.

"We have a new incentive awards system introduced by Gymsports New Zealand which provides flexibility in what the youngsters can achieve, enabling them to pick some of their disciplines while always working on their conditioning, strength and co-ordination," she said.
