Kurow Winery and vineyard, established and owned by the Pasquale family, has been withdrawn from sale after being listed in April last year.
PGG Wrightson real estate agent Laurie Ruddenklau this week said there had been some genuine interest from offshore and locally in buying the Waitaki Valley's only winery with its processing and bottling facilities.
However, after initially being listed as to be sold by a deadline of May 2 last year, it had not sold and was withdrawn in November last year.
Italian Antonio Pasquale and his family continue to own the 29ha property just east of Kurow, after having earlier sold properties they owned in the Hakataramea Valley, including a vineyard.
In development since 2007, the Kurow vineyard has 13ha in more than 56,000 vines, with 15ha of land for expansion.
It has a processing plant, bottling plant, barrel room, storage areas, cool store, laboratory, bonded wine store, showers and toilet facilities, three offices, a boardroom, a cellar door sales outlet and restaurant, and a large car park area with a frontage on State Highway 83.
With a rateable value of about $1.4 million, its market value was likely to be considerably higher - $3 million alone was invested in 2008 to develop the winery building.
