A truck and trailer carrying fruit and vegetables crashed just after midnight today on State Highway 1 between Herbert and Hampden.
A police spokeswoman said a white International truck and trailer ''spun out'' between Mile Flat Rd and Frame Rd, just north of Moeraki, temporarily blocking both lanes.
By about 7am, the truck had been towed into a nearby paddock and both lanes were reopened, she said.
The driver was unhurt but a power pole was understood to have been damaged.
The police Commercial Vehicle Safety Team would be investigating, the spokeswoman said.
