It was a joint project between the Waitaki Resource Recovery Trust and Otago Regional Council.
Between 300 and 400 native trees and shrubs were donated through Honda TreeFund.
Under the programme, administered through regional councils, Honda New Zealand funded the planting of 10 native trees for every new Honda sold and dealers paid for a further three trees for every new car they sold.
Otago regional councillor Doug Brown lent a hand with yesterday's planting, while Marian Shore, from the resource recovery trust, said the area would look "fabulous" once planted.
