Teachers show they are real characters

Waitaki Boys High School pupils could have been forgiven for thinking their library had come to life yesterday.

Teachers dressed up as book characters for Library Week, and attended a special assembly in the Hall of Memories.

Some of the teachers in character dress are (rear, from left) Mary McRae as Lady Macbeth, Lynn Cooper as an Afghan refugee, Coleen Blackmore as Gertrude (Hamlet's mother), Hilary Bishop as a medieval woman, and (front, from left) Matthew Plunket as Russian author Fyodor Dostoevsky and James Evans as the Cat in the Hat.
