The sun was shining down on the 36th edition of the Omarama Rodeo yesterday. The annual event drew in a large crowd of more than 1000 spectators.
They filled up the embankment with picnic blankets and gazebos to provide some shade.

More than 1000 spectators watch proceedings from their hill vantage point.
Some Australian competitors even came over the ditch for the event.
The rodeo featured many events including barrel racing, breakaway roping and, of course, bull riding.
As well as the rodeo action, there was also a selection of food and drink vendors keeping everyone well fed and hydrated.
