Prices were all over the place. A relatively new fax machine sold for $1 and a printer-fax-scanner with a spare cartridge sold for $2.
By contrast, children's black-boards fetched as much as $15.
One of the more expensive items was a Flymo petrol-powered rotary mower which sold for $120.
The equipment - ranging from outdoor gear to desks, children's chairs and even crayons - was from the Hakataramea Valley, Otematata and Kurow Schools, which amalgamated into the Waitaki Valley School.
Some of the items were sold as surplus to requirements because of a $3.9 million redevelopment of the Waitaki Valley School. This is due to be completed for the beginning of the first term next year.
There was also an open day for the partially completed new development, a chance to see proposed landscape plans for the school and a pet parade.
