Pupils give service with a smile

East Otago High School year 13 pupils jumped at the chance to brush up on their decorating skills while performing some community service yesterday as they stripped and repainted the office of the Palmerston A and P Association's secretary at the Palmerston showgrounds.

The community service undertaken by the school pupils throughout the year qualifies them for an award by the Lions clubs Young Leaders programme as well as a school community service award.

Palmerston A and P Show secretary Heather McGregor said she was delighted with her office makeover. The pupils have been helping the A and P association as it prepares for the annual show on Saturday.
