Constable Andy Denny, of Balclutha, said the Toyota Corolla, carrying three passengers, crashed at the intersection of Yarmouth and Cromer Sts, then hit a fence at the intersection of Yarmouth and Springfield Sts shortly after midnight and crashed again in Springfield St, as it was being driven on only three inflated tyres. The driver fled shortly after the incident, but police are aware of his identity.
An 18-year-old female passenger suffered minor injury to her collarbone and a 19-year-old man sustained a bump to his head. Neither required medical treatment, Const Denny said.
Police are seeking information to help find the driver or his vehicle, a red Toyota Corolla with the registration TC176.
