One person has been arrested and another remains at large after police executed two search warrants within minutes in North Otago yesterday.
Police converged on a residential rental property in Tees St, Oamaru, about 9am, followed by a Weston Rd address at Weston a few minutes later, which Sergeant Blair Corlet, of Oamaru, said were believed to be linked to an ongoing police investigation.
''Oamaru police were searching for property related to a series of dishonesty offences that have occurred in Oamaru in the past six weeks.''
He said police located ''evidence linked to some of the offending'' and as a result, a 23-year-old unemployed Oamaru man was arrested at the Tees St address.
He was charged with using a stolen bank card and is due to appear in the Oamaru District Court on October 16.
A second man, also from Oamaru, remained at large and was being sought by police.
''At this stage he's been a little tricky to find,'' Sgt Corlet said.
Inquiries are continuing.
