The church property, between Orr and Rees Sts just off State Highway 83, was offered for sale by the church's Otago Foundation Trust Board.
The Oamaru real estate agent handling the sale, Tony Spivey Sen, said there had been "considerable interest" in the property by the close of tenders at 4pm on Wednesday.
"The main interest has been from prospective buyers looking to take advantage of the new cycleway," he said.
He would not say how many tenders had been received.
They had been forwarded to the board to make a decision by the middle of next month.
The 4048sq m property is on two titles, one with the Oamaru church and the other with a more modern Oamaru stone hall.
The church was built in 1897 and has a New Zealand Historic Places Trust category 2 registration. It has an entrance foyer, office and the main body of the church.
The hall, which has been used as a playcentre with a playground, also has a separate kitchen and toilet.
