Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after Lindis Pass crash

A person has received moderate injuries in a motorcycle crash in the Lindis Pass this morning.

Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle accident at 7.22am.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fenz) spokesman said crews from Tarras, Luggate, Cromwell and Omarama were dispatched, as it was initially unclear where the accident had occurred.

The accident was found near the top of the Lindis Pass saddle, and all crews, apart from Omarama, were turned away.

A St John spokeswoman said one person in a moderate condition was transported to Dunstan Hospital by helicopter.
