Further theft of tools, equipment reported

Another theft of tools and equipment has been reported in the Oamaru area.

Constable Anton Perham, of Oamaru, yesterday said a water blaster, grinder, socket set and wet-weather gear to the value of about $2500 had been taken from a dairy shed on Tokarahi-Ngapara Rd on Wednesday night.

The burglary was similar to one in Reed St, Oamaru, on the night of February 24 in which a water blaster, hammer drill and grinder were stolen, Const Perham said.

The latest theft comes after a string of dishonesty offences in the last week that have included raids on the greenkeeper's shed at the North Otago Golf Club, the taking of the honesty box from the Oamaru Blue Penguin Colony, the theft of more than 400 litres of petrol from a Duntroon rural address and thefts from houses in both Deborah and Eden Sts.
