More than 100 serious, wacky and fun art works and inventions are expected for this year's Oamaru Steampunk Exhibition, making it almost three times bigger and better than last year's inaugural event.
The exhibition will feature works from 41 artists, including a Chicago woman who is sending out exhibits. It is also hoped to involve Weta Workshops again, boosting exhibits even further.
Exhibition co-ordinator Patrick Barry said expressions of interest were called in August from which works were selected.
"Artists are absolutely fizzing to be part of it."
The exhibition, which runs from October 23 to December 5 at the Forrester Gallery, including during the Oamaru Victorian Celebrations, has items ranging from art to hilarious.
The public is invited to the "street party" opening. Last year's exhibition attracted about 6000 visitors.
