Emergency services are at the scene of a five-car crash near Kurow, in North Otago.
The crash happened about 12.10pm, when the cars collided nose-to-tail on the State Highway 83, near Eastern Rd, a police spokeswoman said.
There were no reports of injuries, but the highway's westbound lane was blocked.
There was also a grass fire in the same area, but it was unrelated, the spokeswoman said.
