Hundreds of households in East Otago, from Palmerston to 20kms south at Puketeraki, were without power for about 60 to 90 minutes yesterday after a fault at a Palmerston substation at 7pm.
A PowerNet staff member said a sizeable area including Waikouaiti, Cherry Farm, the Kilmog, Seacliff and Karitane had been affected.
Power had been restored to many areas by 7.57pm and to the rest by shortly after 8.30pm, he said.
