She is not stopping there, and plans to pursue others, including one she thought she had set but had turned down by the governing body Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI) because she did not meet the criteria for the start and finish.
The record now confirmed by the FAI is for the women's 15m class 500km out and return record which she achieved on January 7.
She set a new speed of 157.9kmh, breaking the previous record of 136kmh held by the late Angelika Machinek, of Germany, and set in Namibia.
Wilkinson said she had at least another three world record attempts in her sights, including the 300km triangular speed record for women.
She was not sure whether they could be attempted this season.
"I'm watching the weather forecasts for strong westerly conditions, but we are at the shoulder of the season and I'm not sure there will be enough time," she said.
