A motorist had a lucky escape when a tree fell on to a car on State Highway 83 at Kurow this morning.
Senior Constable Ewen Graham of Oamaru Police said police were called to the incident about 7.30am.
The tree had been blown on to the front of the car, but no injuries had been reported, he said.
