The Big Feed is on once again with the Orwell St Chapel running its Christmas dinner for the fourth time - and there is an open invitation.
The chapel organised the first Christmas dinner in 2008, when about 25 attended. Last year, between 70 and 80 turned up, with 20 volunteers preparing the traditional menu.
Work usually starts in the week leading up to Christmas Day, with the big push starting early on the day itself.
Pastor Tony Dudley said yesterday this year's dinner starting at 12.30pm in the chapel hall follows previous successful formulas.
Already, the chapel has received donations of money and food for the dinner, which starts with drinks and nibbles, has a huge main course with traditional roasts, dessert with pavlova and Christmas pudding, then concludes with tea and coffee.
Mr Dudley said offers of help had also been received, although more volunteers to help prepare and serve the meal would be welcome.
The dinner is open to anyone who wants to attend, from those who might be spending Christmas alone to families who want to share the day.
