A 71-year-old Oamaru man has been arrested and charged in relation to a suspicious grass fire in Duntroon last month.
It is alleged the man set fire to a paddock in Livingstone St on September 12 and then blocked the Fire Service from attending the callout.
He is facing charges of arson, obstructing the Fire Service and threatening behaviour and will appear in the Oamaru District Court in November.
Constable Craig Bennett, of Kurow, said police were also following positive lines of inquiry into another suspicious fire in Livingstone St, Duntroon, on September 25.
It is not believed to be connected to the fire on September 12.
Const Bennett said a person had reported a sighting of a vehicle in the area at the time of the fire at the old Duntroon Bowling Club grounds, after a reading a report on the fire in the Otago Daily Times.
