Catch of the day

Bill Hinchey from Chatto Creek carries a bin of fish following a successful day’s fishing from Shag Point yesterday.

Launching at 6am, Mr Hinchey and his colleagues struggled to catch a fish for some time on the mostly calm seas.

However they had half tub of blue cod before leaving the water at 1pm.

Mr Hinchey had fished in the area for years and praised the reduced allowable catch, observing the fish caught yesterday were larger than the fish caught previously.
