A familiar face has rejoined the Oamaru Whitestone Civic Trust.

At the trust’s annual general meeting  at the Oamaru Opera House this week, former trust chairman Marcus Brown was elected to fill the seat vacated by Waitaki Tourism Association chairman James Glucksman.

Trust chairwoman Kate Proctor said Mr Brown, the development manager for the Kurow Duntroon Irrigation Company and director at Tourism Waitaki, would be an asset for the trust.

He was the Waitaki District Council appointee from 2007 to 2014 and served as the trust chairman for two years from  2013.

Campbells Butchery director Jane Campbell was also re-elected after serving for the past two years.

"She has done some amazing fundraising stuff for us so we’re really pleased to have her back as well,"  Mrs Proctor  said.

The trust’s seven-member board is Mrs Proctor (chairwoman), Graeme Clarke (vice-chairman), Waitaki Mayor Gary Kircher, Phil Hope, Richard Vinbrux, Mrs Campbell, and Mr Brown.
