The 21-year-old Oamaru man left Bluff on Easter Sunday with his 40kg cross, and had travelled 273km by the time he arrived in the Octagon, Dunedin, yesterday.
"It has been a great journey so far - lots of supportive toots from people going by,'' he said.
He hopes to be in Oamaru by tomorrow and to complete his journey in three months.
