Amazing Chase

Described as "part orienteering, part Top Town, part Amazing Race", the Amazing Chase around central Oamaru tomorrow has about 10 teams entered so far.

This will the third time the event has been held and it is growing in popularity as word spreads about the fun challenge, which this year will be concentrated in an area stretching from the Oamaru penguin colony at the Oamaru Harbour through central Oamaru, Takaro Park, the Oamaru Gardens and as far west as the Waitaki community garden.

Organiser Maxine Woodhouse said teams of two to four people of any age, ability or fitness level could enter the event, which starts from Takaro Park at 10am and will run until about 1pm.

Registrations were required for the event. The teams entered are made up of three or four people from families, workplaces, schools or associations.

Entry is $10 a team, with the proceeds going to a charity nominated by the teams.
