Above: All Blacks captain Richie McCaw is greeted by his friend CJ McCaw (no relation) after landing an antique glider at Omarama Airfield yesterday.
McCaw, who is enjoying a gliding holiday at Omarama, took time out from flying his own modern glider to fly the Skylark 4, owned by gliding legend Dick Georgeson, who set two world records in it in the 1960s.
McCaw was in awe of Mr Georgeson's achievements.
"I can't believe he flew it as far as he did or went as high as he did [more than 20,000 feet]", he said.
