There is more than one way to skin a rabbit, but sometimes you are made to do it with your bare hands.
Six teams of two faced elimination in the the Battle of the Blokes fundraiser for Kidsfirst Alexandra Kindergarten this weekend.
About 40 people watched as the blokes struck seductive poses in a sexy selfies round, slathered cakes with icing and other decorations, and even tried their best pick-up lines on audience members.
Then, when it was down to just two teams, four dead rabbits were dumped on the table in the middle of the room to be skinned.
Allowed only their hands, Alexandra men Tim O’Sullivan and David Cordery took the title, skinning their rabbits within minutes.
Organiser Jen McLean said the competition brought out competitors’ hidden talents.
"Each team shone in ways we weren’t expecting them to.
"We hope to run the event again next year and for it to be even more successful."
About $6000 was raised from the entry fee, raffles and auction to go towards the kindergarten’s running costs and equipment.
