Alexandra police are warning motorists to restrict movements between Alexandra and Roxburgh this morning to essential trips only, as ice has made the Roxburgh Gorge road treacherous.
"Avoid using the road in the meantime, if you can," was the message from Sergeant Dave Greaves, of Alexandra.
Roading authorities were also advising travellers to be wary of ice in shaded areas throughout the district.
Danseys Pass remains closed.
