Trust has no assets, liquidator says

The Molyneux Park Charitable Trust had no assets when it was placed into liquidation by an order of the High Court at Dunedin last month, the first report of liquidator Insolvency Management Ltd says.

A former employee of the trust, Richard McAlevey, who worked as a groundsman, applied to have the trust put into liquidation after an Employment Relations Authority decision found he had been unjustifiably dismissed and awarded him more than $25,000.

Previously, trust administrator Mark Tait said the trust had limited funds and no assets as it was in the process of winding up.

Mr McAlevey was the only creditor to make a claim.

He was claiming a total of $32,765.37, of which $3143.89 is the court costs related to his application to have the trust placed into liquidation, joint liquidator Iain Nellies said.

The report said an examination of the trust's records would be undertaken to determine if there were any undisclosed assets, or if there was another way the funds could be recovered.

Mr Nellies said it was hoped the process would be complete by the end of this year.
