Straining to win in Central Otago showdown

Sean Romans, from Geraldine, does his bit for the Speight's team in the horizontal bungy competition in the third annual block challenge at Becks yesterday.

Organiser Karen George, from the White Horse Hotel at Becks, said the teams - from Blacks, Becks, Vulcan, Chatto Creek, Omakau, Lauder and a guest team from Speight's in Dunedin - had seven challenges, including an obstacle course completed blindfolded.

Becks won (for the third time in three years), Speight's was second and Lauder was third.
