Space centre board named

Another important stage has been reached for the Centre for Space Science Technology (CSST) with the announcement of its directors.

The five directors on CSST's board are Stephen Davies Howard (chairman), principal and director of Davies Howard Holdings, of Wellington; Dr Ian Boddy, principal of his own technology consultancy and on the boards of numerous start-up companies, of Hamilton; Maria Stockman, executive director and chairman at D-TX Group LP, of Tauranga; Andy Pearce, chairman of Focus Genetics LP, of Napier; and Melanie Templeton, executive director at Regen, a growth stage agri-tech company, of Wellington.

All five would collectively bring an extensive and wide range of governance experience to CSST, CSST trust chairman Brian Sanders, of Cromwell, said.

CSST was now advertising nationally and internationally for its chief executive officer, and would soon start advertising the positions of director of research and director of operations. The board of directors would appoint the CEO, and the CEO would appoint the next two key roles.

Other aspects of CSST's implementation stage were progressing, Mr Sanders said. Systems and structures were being established and CSST was due to open about July 1, he said.
