The units are almost all sold at Cromwell’s new retirement village as occupants gradually move in.

Eleven units are now occupied at the 7ha site of the $60million Golden View retirement village.

Sales manager Neil Bulling said that 90 units had sold  and only four remained.

At present occupants were moving in  at a rate of three a month, he said.

"The work has picked up again. We’re going flat tack."

A lodge, which would house a pool,  spa, bar area, cinema, library, crafts area and meeting room, was partly built and still on track for a September completion, he said.

Infrastructure such as roading, sewerage and water would be finished by late September, which meant most machinery would be gone.

The retirement village would also include a hospital and care facility with a hospice ward and dementia unit.

Work began in June and the project was scheduled to take four years, Mr Bulling said.
