This years’ dinner will be hosted at the Orchard Garden on May 10.
Central Otago Resilience Trust administrator Tracy Shackleton said the dinner was what allowed the trust to create their funding base to help people who may need financial assistance because of a medical condition.
People in Central Otago often have to travel to Dunedin or Christchurch for medical care and those in financial hardship could apply to the trust for assistance with accommodation, fuel and travel, she said.
The dinner last year raised $26,000 for the trust to help those in need in Central Otago.
There would also be an auction with signed sports team jerseys, fishing trips and bottles of wine on offer, donated by people and businesses in the region, she said.
"It’s the wealth and kindness of our community that put forward auction items for people then to bid on, and that creates ... our funding base to be able to repurpose that back to our community."
Guest speakers Paul Miller and Rob Sangster would share with diners their experiences with cancer.
"They’ve both come through the other side, so two exceptional speakers there."
Having both Mr Miller and Mr Sangster speak about their experiences with cancer was relevant to the trust and the dinner as it was often cancer treatments which people looked for assistance with, she said.
Tickets are $120 per person and are available at trust@cortrust.co.nz
