You may not have committed a crime, needed rescuing, or reported a fire, but you can still get a first-hand experience of police and emergency services resources on Saturday afternoon from 1pm.
As a part of a nationwide police open day, stations throughout the country will be open to the public, including Alexandra.
Central Otago sub area commander Senior Sergeant Ian Kerrisk said the event would also feature other emergency services and partner agencies who worked with police.
''The reason we have them all together is because we all work together ... and the only time they [the public] see what they do is if they are in need. People can have a look at the great resources in the area.''
During the afternoon, people would be able to enter the cell block and a police dog and handler would be on hand.
In addition, one of the new red highway patrol cars, the police drink-drive bus, prison van and new front-line police cars would be on display.
